DESCRIPTION: French, Brass Cased Carriage clock, Anglaise Riche case with Corinthian columns, time, strike and repeat, with aviary panels to the sides plus the dial mask, birds and flowers cast / pressed into the panels and then carefully chased and gilded, c1900
CONDITION: repeat button is there, but has passed to one side of the lever and needs attn. Original silvered platform is intact. Some circles on the rear plate are only drops of lacquer. Original silvered platform is intact and running briskly; strike needs attention and time train will stop when it warns. Does not appear serious. Round porcelain dial is excellent; a little dirt will clean away. A clock with similar hand work on the panels can be seen in the Fanelli/Terwilliger book on carriage clocks, page 49. Ht 8" (all heights are to top of handle in up position). Ht 7.5"
